24tkt.com embezzles Tk 50cr in name of selling Biman tickets

Staff Correspondent:Online air ticketing agency 24tkt.com has embezzled Tk 50 crore in name of selling tickets of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Kamrul Ahsan, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), made the disclosure in a press conference yesterday.
He said, “CID has arrested seven people on charges of embezzling huge amount of money from customers and cheating them in the name of providing online services. The arrestees including Mizanur, director of the online agency 24tkt.com, will be produced before court and sought remand for them.”
Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Head of Operations at tholay.com, Accounts Officer Sohail Hossain, Digital Communications Officer Tareq Mahmud Anik, Sales Executive Officer Sajjad Hossain, Call Center Officer Munna Parvez and Supervisor Masum have been arrested. They were arrested on Sunday (October 10) on the basis of secret information from different areas of the capital.”
He further said, “Mizanur, director of 24tkt.com, has also been arrested for the same offence. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Mizanur had embezzled T50 crore from customers at various times in the name of selling Biman tickets. The arrested people were cheating in the name of selling electronics products at low prices. In addition, the CID has a list of several companies that are making suspicious transactions in the name of e-commerce. Of which 30 to 32 institutions are being monitored.”
