Govt plans to sell fish, meat, milk, egg at fair prices during Ramadan
Staff Correspondent : Fisheries and Livestock Minister MdAbdur Rahman said the government is taking pragmatic plans to sell fish, meat, milk and egg at fair prices during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
The minister said this while talking to the journalists about the fishery and livestock sector at his office room at the secretariat here, a press release said.
The egg and fish production is adequate in the country. So, the ministry is trying to find out why these items cannot be kept within the purchasing power of the people, he said.
Ahead of the next Ramadan, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has planned to sell fish, meat, milk and egg in mobile shops to the marginalized people, especially in slum areas.
Responding to another question from journalists regarding the elimination of syndicates involved in increasing the prices of fish and livestock products, the minister said that there is no way to spare the syndicate. They have to be brought into a system within the legal framework, he added.
He underscored the need for raising a social campaign against this evil syndicate as the government is maintaining zero tolerance policy against corruption.
