Still, eggs, potatoes and onions are being sold at high prices in the capital’s retail markets. Still, the buyer has to pay a maximum of Tk 65 to buy a kg of potatoes. Besides, a kg of onion is Tk120.
In the meantime, the price of sugar has increased again in the market. It is being sold at a maximum of Tk 135 per kg increased by Tk 5. The buyer has to spend extra money to buy these products. It has been reported that he visited several retail markets in the capital on Friday and talked to buyers and sellers.
Retailers said that on this day sugar is being sold at Tk 130-135 per kg. Even seven days ago, it was sold at Tk125 to Tk130.

If the price of one product is slightly reduced, the price of another is increased. There is no relief in this market. This time the price of sugar has also been increased. But the agencies that monitor them are doing nothing.
Regarding the increase in the price of sugar, the grocery seller of the same market said. Shakil said, if the price of sugar is increased from the mill, it is informed in advance. This time it was not done. Due to the increase in prices from the mill level, prices are being increased at the wholesale and retail levels. In this, the buyer has to pay a maximum of Tk 5 more per kg.
Talking to the sellers in the retail market, it is known that every Hali Farm egg is being sold at Tk 50-55. Tk55-65 per kg potato is being sold depending on the quality and market. Tk110-120 per kg of desi onion is being sold. And imported onion is selling at Tk 100-110, which was sold at Tk 105-120 seven days ago. Small grain lentils are being sold at Tk 130 per kg, which was sold at Tk 140 seven days ago.
Come to Nayabazaar of the capital to buy daily products, Biplab said, the price of everything in the market is sky high. No products can be touched. So, people will eat rice with pulses, potatoes or eggs, there is no other way. The prices of these products are being manipulated and sold for several months. Tk 65 per kg of potato in the market. But there is no shortage of this product in any market. Then the sellers increase the price in a cycle. And there is no one to see this. So, we have to buy products at higher prices.
Opened flour is being sold at Tk 45 per kg in the capital’s retail market. Packaged flour is being sold at Tk 55 per kg. Besides, open flour is being sold at Tk 60 per kg. And packaged flour was seen selling at Tk 70 per kg. Bottled soybean oil is selling at Tk 167 per liter. Open soybeans are being sold at Tk 155 per litre. Tk200-220 per kg of desi garlic is being sold. Imported garlic is being sold at Tk 190-220. Desi turmeric is being sold at Tk 350-400 per kg. Besides, imported turmeric is being sold at Tk 300-350 per kg. Domestic ginger is being sold at Tk 450-500 per kg and imported ginger at Tk 220-300.
Meanwhile, all types of meat are being sold at high prices in the retail market. Broiler chickens are being sold at Tk 175 per kg, down by Tk 5 per kg. Domestic chicken is being sold at Tk 560 to Tk 700 per kg. Guru meat is being sold for Tk780 per kg. And goat meat is Tk1,100 per kg.
Talking to the vegetable sellers, it is known that on Thursday Tk300 per kg, dhundal and chichinga were sold at Tk50-60 per kg. And vegetables like brinjal, barbati, bitter gourd and kankarol are being sold at Tk 70-90 per kg. Apart from this, per kg raw chillies are being sold at Tk 150-200.
