SAARC Journalist Forum President Lama to join 79th UNGA
Industry Desk: International President of SAARC Journalist Forum, will participate in the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations representing the journalists of SAARC countries. The General Assembly is starting from September 10 at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
President Lama will participate in the General Assembly to be held at the United Nations headquarters in New York on September 20 and 21 and will inform about the situation of South Asian journalists, their experiences, human rights, and the role they played in peacekeeping.
He said that by actively participating in the ‘Sideline Meeting’ held at that time, in the group discussion, the journalists in the SAARC region would inform about the role played by the SAARC Journalist Forum to establish peace in their respective countries, protect democracy and protect human rights.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres will address the meeting of the General Assembly. SAARC Journalist Forum is an international organization established to protect the rights of South Asian journalists. Its headquarters is in Kathmandu, Nepal.
