Covid vaccine registration age reducing to 35
Staff Correspondent: The age of registration for the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine is being reduced to 35 years. Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam, director general (DG) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) told reporters yesterday morning.
“From now on, only those who are 35 years old or over 35 can registrar for the Covid-19 vaccine. A notification will be issued in a day or two,” he said. Meanwhile, sources in the DGHS said besides reducing the age, farmers and workers are also being added to the registration of vaccines.
It is to be mentioned that the country currently has a 40-year obligation to register for the Covid-19 vaccine. However, if the notification is issued, it will be reduced to 35 years.
According to the DGHS’s information on vaccination on Saturday, a total of 72,82,869 people has registered for vaccination so far. They have given the vaccine jab of 1,01,11,722 doses of AstraZeneca, 80,985 doses of Sinopharm, and 2,742 doses of Pfizer.
