Saudi allows Umrah after Hajj in Holy city

International Desk: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Saudi Arabia has not allowed foreigners to perform Umrah in the country. Even permission not given to perform Hajj. Now, Saudi Arabia is lifting the ban.
The country will allow foreigners to perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia from the first of Muharram (August 10). However, Saudi Arabia has not released a list of countries that will be allowed to perform Hajj.
Hani Al-Omairi, a member of Saudi Arabia’s National Committee on Hajj and Umrah, told Al Arabiya in an exclusive interview that all precautions and rules related to coronavirus should be strictly followed to ensure the safety of those coming from abroad to perform Umrah.
Earlier, from November 1, the pilgrims from outside Saudi Arabia also had the opportunity to enter the Masjid al-Haram for worship. But as the second and third waves of the Covid-19 spread to several countries around the world, it was postponed again to avoid infection. This year, the Saudi Arabian government has organized the Hajj under “special conditions”. Millions of people worldwide travel to Saudi Arabia every year to perform Hajj and Umrah. Muslims have to travel to the same place to observe these two rules.
Before the COVID pandemic spread around the world, more than 2.5 million people worldwide traveled to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia each year to perform the Hajj. Besides, thousands of Muslims from around the world travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah throughout the year. From the Hajj, Saudi Arabia earns about $12 billion every year.
