Eid journey more comfortable than ever before
Staff Correspondent: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said this year’s Eid journey of homegoing people is more comfortable than ever before.
He told reporters after inspecting the Mohakhali bus terminal in the capital yesterday.
Obaidul Quader said the pressure on homegoing people is less today. The situation of homebound people on Eid is better this time than any time in the past. Even the condition of Gazipur Elenga Highway is good. The transport is running smoothly.
Law enforcement is also active on the road.
“Bus owners and workers have been asked not to take extra fares,” said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.
Obaidul Quader, in response to a query from reporters – traffic jams are constantly being created due to the presence of buses on the roads of Mohakhali bus terminal – said that from now on, bus owners should be careful and take necessary measures so that they do not park their vehicles on the road.
He said action would be taken against the transporters who were being charged extra fares. We have executive magistrates in the field. If any transport charges extra fare, action is being taken against them.
Although the bus owners denied taking the extra fare, the Road Transport and Bridges Minister said “since the allegations were coming, the extra fare was definitely being taken”. Strict action will be taken against those who take extra rent.
Earlier, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader visited the Mohakhali bus terminal and inspected the passengers.
