Addl Secretaries got charge of 12 cities

Staff Correspondent: The government has removed the mayors of 12 city corporations and appointed administrators. They will be in charge of these city corporations. A notification in this regard was issued on Monday (August 19) at noon.
It said, in application of sub-section (1) of 25(a) of the Local Government (City Corporations) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024, 12 officers were appointed as administrators until further orders.
Additional Secretary of Local Government Department Sher Ali to Dhaka South City Corporation, Director General of Local Government Department Mahmudul Hasan to Dhaka North City Corporation, Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Division to Chittagong City Corporation, Divisional Commissioner of Khulna to Khulna City Corporation, Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi to Rajshahi City Corporation, Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet to Sylhet City.
