Another customer files case against Evaly Chairman, MD

Staff Correspondent: Another customer of e-commerce companyEvaly yesterday filed a case against its chairman Shamima Nasrin and her husbandand company Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MohammadRassel. One Md Mujahidur Rahman pleaded to accept his case with the court of
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari after not getting anair-conditioner from the company in spite of paying the full price. Acceptingthe case, the court asked Dhanmandi Police Station to file it as firstinformation report (FIR).
“The customer paid Tk 85 thousands long ago to Evaly as payment for aGeneral brand Air-Conditioner. But in spite of paying the price in full, theproduct was not supplied,” public prosecutor Azad Rahman told.
Earlier on September 21, Dhaka Additional Metropolitan MagistrateHasibul Haque placed Mohammad Rassel on one day fresh remand and sent ShamimaNasrin to jail in a money embezzlement case lodged with Gulshan PoliceStation.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam on September 17 had placedRassel and Shamima on three-day remand in another case filed with GulshanPolice Station. One Arif Baker, a customer of Evaly, filed the case.
Mohammad Rassel and Shamima Nasrin were detained from their Mohammadpurflat in the afternoon on September 16.
