Bangladesh is not in list of top 100 varsities in Asia
Industry Report: The name of any institution in Bangladesh is not in the list of top 100 universities of the recently published QS Asia University Rankings 2022. The name of any Bangladeshi university after 2019, which is not included in the top 100 institutions in this list, is again questioning the quality of education of the country’s universities.
According to the ranking published on Wednesday (April 7), Dhaka University is ranked 142nd out of 6 educational institutions in the world. Although it is among the top 200 institutions in the list, the ranking of Dhaka University has come down more than the previous 3 years.
Earlier, Dhaka University was ranked 135th in 2021 and 2020 and 126th in 2019.
Although there are only 13 public and private universities in the country, there is no other university in Bangladesh among the first 200 institutions except Dhaka University.
Among other universities in Bangladesh, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) is in 202nd position and North South University is in 215th position.
Also, from 291 to 300 BRAC University, from 351 to 400 Daffodil International University and Independent University, from 401 to 450 Islamic University of Technology, from East West University and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (1), Kuwait United International University out of 500, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology between 501 and 550 and Dhaka University of Engineering and Technologyis in the 601st to 650th position.
