Bangladesh’s total labor force is 7.36 crore: BBS
Staff Correspondent: At present, the total labor force in the country is 7 crore 36 lakh 90 thousand people, which is almost half of the total population (16 crores 98 lahks). Males constitute 48.25 percent and females 25.44 percent of this labor force. This information was given by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
This information was given in a press conference regarding the results of the important indicators obtained for the first quarter (January-March) of the Quarterly Labor Force Survey-2023 at the NEC conference room in the capital’s Shere Bangla Nagar yesterday.
Project director Aziza Rahman said, according to the results of the first quarter of the quarterly labor force survey 2023, the total population engaged in the labor force is 73.69 million (men 48.25 million, women 25.44 million). Besides, the working population is currently 71.10 million (males 46.54 million, females 24.56 million).
