CAAB celebrates ICAO award

Industry DeskOn the occasion of attaining silver membership status of Civil Aviation Academy of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh(CAAB) has organized a discussion program on 9 May 2024 at the Headquarters Auditorium of CAAB.
It is mentioning that the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS)-2024 was held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic during April 29 to May 2. As the activities of the Civil Aviation Academy are conducted by maintaining the ICAO standards, the CAAB Civil Aviation Academy has been upgraded from the primary i.e. Bronze category to Silver category by ICAO. On May 1, 2024, the President and Secretary General of ICAO handed over the ICAO Trainair Plus Silver certificate of the Civil Aviation Academy to Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, the Chairman, CAAB in a grand ceremony at the Symposium. Civil Aviation Academy’s ICAO Trainer plus Silver certification marks the beginning of a glorious chapter for CAAB in the aviation sector to develop skilled manpower with technical knowledge in the aviation sector of Bangladesh.
In the ceremony, in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization and organized by the Civil Aviation Academy, certificates were distributed to 348 trainees under a total of 12 courses, including 05 ICAO Courses and 07 thematic trade courses for trainees newly joining Bangladesh Civil Aviation.
Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, chairman of Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority, was present as the chief guest in the certificate distribution ceremony – besides, members of various departments of Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority, directors, assistant directors, course trainees and officials at various levels and Employees were present. The program was presided over by Air Commodore AFM Atikuzzaman, Member (Planning and Management) and the welcome address was given by Prashant Kumar Chakraborty, Director, Civil Aviation Academy. ICAO Senior Instructor Captain Mostafa Hummadi gave a special speech.
