Cyclone Mocha damages 10,000 houses in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Cyclone Mocha has damaged 10,000 houses in Cox’s Bazar. Among those, 1,200 houses were damaged in Saint Martin of Teknaf.
Referring to this information yesterday afternoon, Deputy Commissioner Md Shaheen Imran said that Mocha’s rampage will come down after 7pm.
However, at least 250,000 people in shelters will be able to return home if the signal goes down. Apart from this, many trees were uprooted.
At around 3pm yesterday, Cyclone Mocha had hit the coast of Saint Martin’s Island.
Confirming the matter, chief meteorologist of the district meteorological office Abdur Rahman said: “The cyclone hit Saint Martin and Teknaf coast around 3pm. In this, various infrastructures including houses, trees and electricity poles in those areas were broken.”
