Experiment train to run on Padma Bridge on April 4
Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Railways has decided to run trains experimentally from April 4 (Tuesday) on the Mawa-Bhanga link railway including Padma Bridge.
Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Railways Md. Shariful Alam confirmed the matter to the media yesterday afternoon.
He said that the work on railway tracks on Padma Bridge was scheduled to be completed on March 30. However, since that is not the case, the experiment train will be run on April 4.
Meanwhile, Afzal Hossain, Project Director of the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project, said that only 7 meters of work are left on Padma Bridge. Here only the work of “sleeper installation” is left. Once this is done, we can start the train experimentally.
At the end of last February, it was informed in the meeting of the parliamentary committee related to the Ministry of Railways, that the construction work of Padma Rail Bridge is being completed before the scheduled time. The project was scheduled to be completed by 2024. However, it is hoped that this project will be completed by next June.
