Gold prices down further
Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) has again reduced the price of gold in the country’s market in a span of four days. The price of good quality gold has been reduced by Tk 933, as a result, the price of 22-carat gold will decrease to Tk 82,348 – which was Tk 83,281 so far.
This information was informed in a press release signed by MA Hannan Azad, chairman of the BAJUS Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee on Sunday.
Earlier, BAJUS had cut gold prices on September 14 with effect from September 15. Gold was sold at that rate till Sunday.
According to BAJUS, the price of acid gold (pure gold) has decreased in the local market. Taking into consideration the overall situation, the new price of gold has been fixed in the country’s market.
The new price shows that the price of good quality 22-carat per bhori (11.664 g) gold has been reduced by Tk 933 to Tk 82,348 from Monday. Apart from this, the price of 21-carat per bhori gold has been reduced by Tk 875 to Tk 78,615. The price of 18-carat per bhori gold has been reduced by Tk 700 to Tk 67,418. Besides, the price of the traditional method gold has been reduced by Tk 583 to Tk 55,871.
However, the price of silver has been kept unchanged. According to the category, the price of 22-carat per bhori silver is Tk 1,516, 21-carat per bhori silver is Tk 1,435, 18-carat per bhori silver is Tk 1,225, and traditional silver is Tk 933.
On Sunday, the price of good quality gold was Tk 83,281, the price of 21-carat per bhori gold was Tk 79,490, 18-carat per bhori gold was sold at Tk 68,118 and the price of traditional gold was Tk 56,454.
