Govt to procure services to observe golden jubilee
Staff Correspondent: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) yesterday approved a proposal in principle to procure various services under Direct Procurement Method (DPM) to hold the closing ceremony and other functions as part of the observance of the golden jubilee of country’s independence in a colorful and befitting manner. The approval came from the 20th meeting of the CCEA in this year held virtually with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair.
Briefing reporters virtually after the meeting, the Finance Minister said that the day’s meeting approved a proposal from the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs to procure various services through outsourcing under DPM method to implement various round the year programmes including closing ceremony and other functions of various ministries and divisions to observe the golden jubilee of country’s independence in a colorful and befitting manner.
In this regard, he said, event management firms would be appointed side by side there will be city decorations, workshops, seminars and conferences both at home and in abroad, cultural functions, exhibitions, ensuring various publications, video, documentary and installation of LED screens.
Kamal said the meeting approved another proposal in principle from the ICT Division to procure Oracle Could under DPM method for the four-tier national data center under the Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited.
The Finance Minister said the CCEA meeting also approved a proposal for scrapping the proposed Construction of Laldia Bulk Terminal Project from the PPP list.
