Letter sent to Delhi NCB to bring Sohel back
Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Police has sent a letter to the National Central Bureau (NCB) in New Delhi to bring former Inspector Sheikh Sohel Rana back to the country.
Diplomatic efforts are also underway to bring him back from India.
National Central Bureau of police headquarters’ Assistant Inspector General Mohiul Islam confirmed the news yesterday.
He said, “We sent a letter to the National Central Bureau (NCB) in New Delhi on 5 September, but we did not get any response yet. We except that it is possible to bring him back to the country”.
Sohel Rana is now currently in the custody of Kochbihar police.
Members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) detained him from the Changrabandha border in West Bengal’s Kochbihar district on charges of infiltration on Friday.
Sohel Rana, also an associate of e-commerce company E-Orange, was sued with Gulshan Police Station for embezzling crores of money.
