Staff Correspondent: A 20km tailback has formed on Dhaka-Chittagong highway after Roads and Highway Division in Chattaogram started maintenance work on the highway this morning.

According to Roads and Highway Division officials, the maintenance work is underway at Banur Bazar point since this morning. Ruhul Amin, sub-inspector of Baroawlia Highway Police Station told that the tailback started from Banur Bazar area where police are trying to ease the traffic pressure through one lane of the highway.
Due to the maintenance work, hundreds of vehicles got stuck, said the SI.
Thousands of passengers have been suffering immensely on the highway from around 11am following the tailback, he said.
The traffic will return to normalcy soon as the maintenance work in the area is almost done, added the police official.
