Manipulation behind egg price hike

Staff Correspondent: Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection is conducting drives in the capital to control the hike in egg prices.
The organization launched the drives at Kawran Bazar area yesterday morning.
The prices of egg have been hiked by manipulating markets and Egg Traders Association is involved with this manipulation, according to the Consumer Rights.
During the drives, the Consumer Rights fined two egg selling farms Tk20,000 each as they were found involved in irregularities. The organization’s assistant director Jabbar Mondol said, “Most egg farms do not have a catalogue for selling eggs. Besides, they could not show any receipt or voucher of purchasing and selling eggs. They have been fined for all these reasons.”
