Motijheel traffic evicts illegal shops from Khilgaon

Staff Correspondent: The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police is committed to build the mega city as one of the finest livable cities of the world.

The Khilgaon Taltala area is at the top of the foodie destinations of Dhaka metropolis. Hundreds of hawkers, pithapuli shops, shoe shops and food courts have been illegally built like frog umbrellas on both sides of the road and on the footpaths from Madina Hotel to Khilgaon Taltala Market in this area have evicted. These illegal jute shops on both sides of the road have made it difficult for the public to walk normally.

In view of this, Traffic Motijheel Division conducted an eviction operation against illegal encroachment on both sides of the road in Khilgaon area on May 11, 2024. At the same time, legal action was taken against hundreds of bikes, private cars and other vehicles parked illegally in the ‘no parking zone’ in the mentioned areas.

Such operations will continue to maintain traffic order said DC of Motijheel Traffic Zone and Additional DIG Mohammad Maynul Hasan, BPM. Traffic Motijheel Department requests commuters of all walks of life to nurture and observe the culture of traffic order and abiding law. The Traffic Motijheel Department is committed to providing relief to the esteemed city dwellers, he added.
