Mushfiqur Rahim emerges as 2nd Bangladeshi to reach 15,000 runs in International cricket.

Sports Desk: Former national skipper and wicketkeeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim emerged as the 2nd Bangladeshi cricketer to reach 15,000 runs in the international cricket after the opening batsman Tamim Iqbal.

A 37-year old Mushfiqur Rahim earned the feat against hosts Pakistan in the first innings on the 3rd day of Rawalpindi test on Friday.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who needed just 32 runs in the day’s first test to be the member of 15,000 runs club as the 2nd Bangladeshi cricketer, reached the milestone scoring an unbeaten 55 runs off 122 balls featuring seven boundaries.

Mushfiq, who made a good partnership with Liton Das in the 6th wicket stand contributing 98 runs and completed his 28th test half century in the match.

Liton Das also made a half century on the match and was in batting with 52 runs off 58 balls hitting eight fours and one six.

Earlier, opener Sadman Islam also made a good return in test cricket after Durban test in 2022, scoring 93 runs off 183 balls featuring 12 boundaries in the Rawalpindi test.

Forner test captain Mominul Haque, came bat in number four, also made a half century scoring just 50 runs off 76 balls with five hits to the fence.

Riding on four half centuries, touring Bangladesh team making a good reply to Pakistan’s first innings total 448 for 6 (declared) scoring 316 for 5 in 92 overs on the 3rd day of the first test (Friday).
