No decision yet taken for pvt chambers at govt hospitals
Staff Correspondent: No decision has yet been taken by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare regarding the doctors’ private chambers in separate shifts in government hospitals.
Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Maidul Islam Pradhan revealed the matter in a press release.
The ministry claims that various headlines such as ‘Chamber from March, maximum fee Tk 300’, Specialist doctors to prescribe for Tk 300’ are creating various confusion among people.
The Ministry of Health said, regarding the issue of doctors’ private chambers at government hospitals after office hours, a committee is working under the ministry’s additional secretary (administration) Saidur Rahman. The work of the committee is still ongoing. So far, whether a doctor’s fee will be Tk 300 or Tk 150, it has not yet been fixed. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has not taken any decision on how many hospitals or government health centers will be opened.
In this regard, the committee will discuss at various stages and take a decision and it will be informed to the countrymen through a press conference, said the Ministry of Health.
All are specifically requested not to circulate such information until the further notice in this regard.
