Padma Bridge: Beckoning of new possibilities in South

Kalapara (Patuakhali): Not just imagination, this time the long-awaited dream Padma Bridge is awaiting inauguration to change the fate of the entire southern region.
On June 25, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the dreamer of the Padma Bridge, will unveil the bridge to the glory of the Bengali nation. With the inauguration of this bridge, the door of the economy is opening for the people of the entire southern region who were once living on backward sides.
Meanwhile, investors are looking to expand trade in the wake of the construction of the bridge, centering the Payra Seaport and the tourist city of Kuakata. They say the Padma Bridge has actually broken down the “barriers” to the development in the riverine areas.
The Padma Bridge has bridged the gap between the entire country with the capital. After the inauguration, people from the southernmost part of Bangladesh will be able to reach the capital from Kuakata within only 6 hours, reducing the suffering and saving times. The Padma Bridge will have a positive impact on the rural economy by expanding business through improved means of communication.

Investors say many commercial establishments, including factories, will be set up in the south as there will be no cost to reach the capital by ferries, creating employment for many people as well as reducing the problem of unemployment, as a result, this dream Padma Bridge has opened the door of “prosperity and development” in the coastal areas including the southernmost district Patuakhali.

Didar Uddin Masum, president of Kalapara Port Business Association, said that the contribution of Bangabandhu’s daughter in fulfilling the dreams of Bengalis into a reality was outstanding. Traders have already come up with new plans to expand their business.

Patuakhali DC Md. Kamal Hossain said the people of the south are seeing a “glimmer of hope” in improving their fortunes by improving the communication system with the capital. This will move the wheel of the economy of the people of the entire southern region. Meanwhile, the coastal people are floating in the tide of joy at the news of the inauguration of the Padma Bridge. “Special thanks to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he added.
