Pension Scheme: University teachers’ leaders meet Obaidul Quader
Industry Desk: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday sat with a delegation of the public university teachers, aiming to end the stalemate in universities due to their indefinite strike that started on July 1 protesting Prattay pension scheme.
The meeting began at 11 am at Awami League’s Dhanmondi office. Awami League Joint General Secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif and AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua and State Minister for Education Shamsunnahar Chapa were present at the meeting.
Prime Minister’s Education and Cultural Affairs Adviser Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury was also present.Earlier, the teachers’ meeting with Quader was postponed on July 4. Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers aAssociation President Prof Dr Md Akhtarul Islam and Secretary General Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman were among the delegation of teachers.
