Rehab fair fetches Tk 400 cr booking
Staff Correspondent: The buyers have booked flats and plots worth around Tk 400 crore for the five-day REHAB Winter Housing Fair-2021 at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital. About Tk 1,500 crore has come to the bank commitment related to home loan at the fair.
Alamgir Shamsul Alamin (Kajal), president of REHAB, an association of real estate traders, said this at an immediate press conference yesterday.
The REHAB President said that flats, plots and commercial spaces worth around Tk 398.36 crore were sold and booked till on the last day of REHAB fair. Of this, flats have been sold and booked for Tk 198 crore. Plots worth Tk 125 crore and commercial space worth Tk 74.36 crore have been booked and sold. Besides, the bank commitment has come to about one and a half thousand crore rupees. Around 19 thousand 238 people came to the fair.
Alamgir Shamsul Alamin said the main purpose of the fair is branding. All the buyers and visitors who come here will buy flats or plots. Some may buy now, some a little later. The companies participating in the fair have informed the buyers about the quality of their products. They will be nursing buyers-visitors. Buyers, on the other hand, will look at the product and make a final decision.
Many of the participants in this year’s fair have showcased their products digitally.
Many have told me that expatriate brothers from abroad have also inquired about their products. This is also a good thing for us.
The news conference said that after the Corona pandemic, the lack of confidence in the investment of the citizens was noticeable. Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during this time. Despite the reduction in the incidence of corona in our country due to the implementation of the incentive package for the citizens and the wide range of immunizations in the firm steps of the Prime Minister, there are still signs of apprehension. In this situation, Rehab Fair is going to end successfully.
He said, I have been able to unite everyone by cutting Covid-19. I have tried to restore confidence among the people through this rehab fair. Buyers and sellers, the media and the spontaneity of everyone has received a sign of hope. I will not be able to visualize the overall picture of this confidence with the statistics of buying and selling at the fair. We are hopeful of the response of the citizens to the fair, the appeal we have seen. We can say without hesitation that the housing sector is turning around.
In addition to getting 220 stalls, about 150 housing companies participated in the fair. Fifteen construction materials and 30 banks and financial institutions took part in the fair, which ended on Monday.
The entry fee for single entry of the fair is fixed at Tk 50 and for multiple entry it is fixed at Tk 100. Buyers and visitors can enter the fair once on single entry ticket and five times on multiple entry ticket. The fair runs every day from 10 am to 9 pm. There are attractive prizes in the raffle draw on entry tickets.
Rehab Housing Fair started in 2001 in Dhaka. Besides, REHAB has successfully completed 14 fairs in Chittagong. The company has been organizing housing fairs abroad since 2004. So far, 12 Rehab Housing Fairs have been successfully held in the United States, one each in the United Kingdom, Dubai, Rome, Italy, Canada, Sydney, Qatar and two in Dubai. By organizing these fairs, REHAB is continuing its efforts to create and expand the housing industry market at home and abroad.
Also present at the press conference were Rehab Senior Vice President Intekhabul Hamid, Vice President (First) Kamal Mahmud and Vice President Sohail Rana along with members of the Rehab Mela Standing Committee.
