Shops can be opened after taking vaccine jab: minister
Staff Correspondent: The restrictions have been extended till August 10 in view of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak and the recommendation of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The shops will be opened from August 11 subject to vaccination.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM MozammelHaque presided over the online meeting. After the meeting, the minister informed about the new decision regarding the restrictions.
None can open a shop without getting a vaccine jab. Shopkeepers must be vaccinated between 7 and 9 August. Otherwise, they cannot open shops, he said. The meeting was attended by 12 ministers and state ministers, 16 secretaries, principal staff officers of the armed forces, inspector general of police, director general of DGHS and director of IEDCR.
It is to be mentioned that the government imposed strict restrictions from 6 am on July 23 which will end at midnight on August 5. The export-oriented industries have already been opened since August 1. However, the Covid-19 situation has not improved, as a result, the strict restrictions have been extended till August 10.
