SKICL declares 12 percent cash dividend

The shareholders of Sena Kalyan Insurance Company Limited have unanimously approved 12 percent cash dividend for the year ended December 31, 2022 as proposed by the Board of Directors.
The proposal was approved at the 10th Annual General Meeting held virtually. Chairman of the company, Major General Iftekhar Anis presided over it. Managing Director and CEO Brigadier General MD Shafiq Shamim (retd), directors, company secretary and shareholders were present in the meeting.

In response to a question, Managing Director and CEO Brigadier General MD Shafiq Shamim (retd) said that despite being the youngest general insurance company in the country, its total assets have increased by 5.90 times in just 10 years, which is a significant achievement. He said that in 2022, the company earned Tk 800.57 million in gross premium, which is 2.61% higher than the previous year.

He also said that in the age of digitalization, we want to reach everyone’s doorstep through innovative services. For this reason, we are working to increase our information technology capabilities, so that we can ensure the social and economic security of policyholders as one of the successful insurance companies by bringing the public under insurance step by step and dealing with various economic risks of assets.
Chairman of the company Major General Iftekhar Anis presented the financial report and said that the underwriting profit of the company increased by 1.61% to Tk 82.29 million in 2022 which is definitely a remarkable achievement.
Expressing satisfaction with the company’s income despite various adverse conditions, Major General General Iftekhar Anis said that the programs that have been taken to increase the risk management and service quality are playing a positive role in increasing the company’s income. He expressed hope that this trend will continue in the future.
