Those involved in irregularities won’t be spared

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Bank managing director (MD) and chief executive officer Emranul Huq said, over Tk3.77 crore went missing from Dhaka Bank’s Bangshal branch. The issue came to light in an internal audit. Those involved in financial irregularities won’t be spared.

He said that according to the rules, we are doing internal audit in our all branches. An audit team found out that Tk 3.77 crore went missing from the bank’s Bangshal branch vault. Legal action has been started against those involved in the irregularities.
“We will investigate the issue from our side. The probe committee will work side by side the committee of administration,” he added. Two officers of Dhaka Bank Ltd already have admitted to the misappropriation of about Tk 3.77 crore from the vault of bank’s Bangshal branch. The two officials are- Senior Officer Cash in-charge Riazul Haque and Manager Operation Emran Ahmed.
