Govt sends CID’s addl DIG Omar Faruque to retirement
Industry Desk: The government has sent Additional Deputy Inspector General (CID) Sheikh Omar Faruque to retirement, considering “public interest”.
He was supervising the cases against actress Pori Moni, models Fariha Mahbub Piasha, Mou and some others. He was in charge of CID’s Dhaka Metro North. The Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued a circular in this regard yesterday.
Apart from Sheikh Omar Faruque, APBN-6 Commander (SP ranked) Mohammad Abdur Rahim at Mahalchhari in Khagrachari was also sent to retirement yesterday.
According to a circular signed by Dhananjay Kumar Das, deputy secretary of public security division, they were retired from government service in public interest — as per the provisions of Section 45 of Government Service 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018) — as they have completed 25 years of service.
The officers will get all benefits of retirement as per rules, and the order will be effective from the date of issuance, it said.
