DGHS concerns over lockdown relaxation

Staff Correspondent: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has expressed its concern about increasing Covid-19 outbreak across the country due to easing the all-out lockdown ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Line Director Professor Dr. Robed Amin, a spokesman of DGHS, expressed this concern at a regular health briefing on Covid-19 yesterday afternoon.
He said the lockdown has been relaxed for 8 days ahead of Eid. It is feared that the infection will increase across the country. If the hygiene rules are not followed in the public transport, shopping malls and sacrificial cattle markets launched on the occasion of Eid, there is no chance to reduce the level of infection.
“If the use of masks is not followed 100 percent at the sacrificial cattle market, then the outbreak could not be reduced if the DGHS tried their best,” he warned people. “Therefore, we also request the law enforcement agencies to strictly follow the hygiene rules.”
