Events on Bangabandhu to be held in 100 varsities across globe: Momen

Diplomatic Correspondent: Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen yesterday said the Bangabandhu foundation is planning to hold events like seminars and workshops on the ideology and principles of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at 100 prominent universities across the world.
“We (Bangabandhu Foundation) have taken an initiative to arrange seminars and workshops on Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’s tremendous successes at 100 different universities across the globe,” he said.
The foreign minister, who is also the president of the Bangabandhu Foundation, said the body has committees in 39 countries across the world and they are committed to project Bangladesh positively in the international arena.
“We will continue our efforts to project Bangladesh positively in the world including disseminating the ideology and information on lifelong struggle of our Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said.
Dr Momen said the foundation has also taken an initiative to take interview of all freedom fighters who are still alive. “The Liberation War Affairs Ministry will support us in this endeavor,” he added.
The foreign minister made the remarks while talking to journalists after placing a wreath along with the leaders of the foundation at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital this morning.

Dr Momen said the foreign ministry has already set up Bangabandhu corners at 81 Bangladesh missions and offices abroad.

About the negative campaign about Bangladesh, the foreign minister said it is very unfortunate that a vested quarters have been involved such kind of misdeeds abroad against their own country with absolutely false and fabricated information.
