Govt sets 7.5pc GDP growth target for FY23
Staff Correspondent: The government has fixed a 7.5 percent GDP growth target for the fiscal year 2022-23.
Finance Minister AHM Mostafa Kamal said this while presenting a proposed budget of Tk 6,78,064 crore for FY 2022-23 in Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday.
He said, “We hope a 7.24 percent GDP growth will be achieved at the end of the current fiscal year.
“Besides, considering the prolonged impact of COVID-19 pandemic, Russia-Ukraine war, etc., a 7.5 percent growth for next 2022-23 financial year has been fixed.”
The size of the budget is Tk 74,383 crore more than that of 2021-22. The last budget was Tk 6,03,681 crore.
