Jemson, Shafi new President, GS of RAC

Staff Correspondent: Jemson Mahbub of Ekattor TV and Shafi Uddin Ahmed of Asian Television were elected president and general secretary respectively of the new executive committee-2023 of Reporters Against Corruption (RAC), an organization of journalists covering the news of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), for a one-year term.

The election was held followed by Annual General Meeting of the organisaiton at a restaurant in the city on Tuesday.79 out of 93 voters exercised their right to vote.

The other committee members are vice-presidents– Mahbub Saikat(My TV), Rabbi Siddiqui (Jamuna Television), joint general secretary, and Syed Riyad (Pratidiner Bangladesh), organizing secretary, Taslimul Alam Tauhid (News 24), treasurer, Ali Talukder, office secretary, Maruf Kibria, publicity and publication secretary, Atika Rahman, training and research secretary and Fazlur Rahman, culture and sports secretary.

NTV’s Special Correspondent Safiq Shaheen, Daily Azkal Khabar’s Saiful Islam Montu, UNB’s Muhammad Jahangir Alam and Dainki Nawraj’s Rafiq Uzzaman won the post of executive members.

The election was conducted led by Khurshid Alam, general secretary of one section of Dhaka Journalist Union, Akter Hossain, general secretary of another section of Dhaka Journalist Union and Syed Shukur Ali Shubo, president of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU).

Earlier, the Annual General Meeting was held with outgoing President of RAC Ahammad Foyez in the chair.
