NBR making list of illegal foreigners

Staff Correspondent: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is going to move taking action against foreign nationals working for various government and non-government bodies without work permits under the tax net.
The NBR has already sent letters to the ministries concerned seeking information on the workers appointed illegally.
According to a source at the NBR, a large number of foreign nationals are working in various government and non-government bodies. Many of them are working illegally in these bodies. As a result of this, the government is being deprived of a huge amount of taxes. This way, no foreigner can continue work here. This is the clear violation of the country’s existing law.
The NBR has recently requested all the ministries and departments concerned to check the visa category of the foreigners working under their purview and register them with the proper authorities if any of them are found to be working without a work permit.
The source said that the government had given utmost importance on domestic revenue collection, in a bid to continue ongoing development activities for the implementation of the Vision 2041.
