Newly elected Mayor of Bandarban Municipality takes office

Muhammad Ali, Bandarban: The newly elected Mayor of Bandarban Municipality, Md. Samsul Islam, who won the election as a ruling Awami League candidate, took office on Sunday.

Acting Mayor of Bandarban Municipality SouravDasShekhar handed over the charge to the newly elected Mayor at a ceremony.

Chief Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate of the Municipality Arup Ratan Singh, Executive Engineer MozammelHaque, Assistant Engineer RuiPru Aung Marma, Administrative Officer Priyatosh Chowdhury, Accounting Officer Nurul Amin Chowdhury and councilors of different wards and municipality officials and employees were present on the occasion.

After assuming office as Mayor, Samsul Islam exchanged greetings with officers and employees of the Municipality and asked them to perform their duties properly during this time of disaster.

Earlier on August 10, Md. Samsul Islam took oath at Chittagong Divisional Commissioner’s office.
