PM sets example of humanitarian aid: Razzaque

Staff Correspondent: Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set an example of unique humanitarian assistance by providing the needy people with food and necessary supplies since the beginning of the pandemic.
“The lockdown imposed to prevent corona infection has narrowed the income streams of daily working and low-income marginalized people. Many have become unemployed…PM Hasina’s assistance has helped them survive the pandemic,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a food distribution ceremony on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha, said a press release yesterday.
He virtually joined the ceremony held at Jadunathpur union in Dhanbari upazila of Tangail.
Dr Razzaque said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is providing food assistance to more than 1 crore families ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.” She is giving food aid to the helpless people and needy families before Eid so that the joy of Eid does not fade away due to lack of food, he added.
Jadunathpur Union Chairman Mir Firoz Ahmed chaired the function.
Dhanbari Upazila Chairman Harun ar Rashid Hira, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Samiul Haque, upazila level officials and local people’s representatives were present on the occasion.
