Saifuzzaman admitted having assets abroad

Staff Correspondent : Former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury admitted to having business and wealth in London. However, he claimed that he did not take any money from Bangladesh in making foreign assets.
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said this in a press conference at the National Press Club on Saturday.
Chittagong-13 (Anowara-Karnaphuli) Member of Parliament Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said that his father had done business in London since 1967. He himself studied in the United States and did business there since 1991. He then expanded the business to London.
Regarding the concealment of assets abroad in the election affidavit, this member of parliament elected from Awami League said that the affidavit is completely based on the income tax return of Bangladesh. It does not have a separate table for information on foreign assets. Why go to give additional information? He said he has separate income tax documents abroad. And the assets abroad have bank loans behind them.
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said about the huge expansion of business in London during his stay as a minister, Corona epidemic became an opportunity for him. At that time house prices in London fell. Bank loan interest is reduced. At that time, he took the risk and profited.
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury claimed that there was no corruption in his ministry while he was a minister. He said to form a high-level investigation team if necessary. He announced that he would resign as a member of parliament if he could prove any corruption.
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury referred to himself as a businessman first and then a politician. He said that he made wealth in his own name knowingly. Because his children were not old enough to be owners. He has a traditional blessing of wealth abroad. So, knowing that he has made wealth in his own name.
