So many news portals no needs in country

Staff Correspondent: Information and Broadcast Minister Hasan Mahmud has said that the country has no need so many news portals like mushroom.
He said, “There is no need for the online news portals those do not really work as mass media but for its own special purpose. There is no need for so many online news portals in the country like mushroom.” The Minister said this while exchanging views with the reporters at the Secretariat yesterday noon.
Referring to the court’s directive to shut down unregistered online news portals as favourable, Hasan Mahmud said,
“Anyone who wants to launch online news portal will do as much as they want, spread false news, rumors, destroy character of others and conduct those with an aim of business. It is never advisable to write there to protect any business interests. In that case, this order of the court is definitely a helpful order.” Regarding the High Court’s directive to close unregistered online news portals within 7 days, the Information Minister said that there is no rule that no online will be published in the future except those which are now registered.
