Students should be taught coding-programming: Dipu

Staff Correspondent: Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni yesterday said we have to be technology-friendly and efficient. That is why students need to be introduced to technology from an early age. Coding, programming should be taught from an early age.
“Otherwise, they will not be able to survive in the fourth industrial revolution,” she mentioned.
Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni was responding to a query from reporters after the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Union Parishad (UP) chairmen of Sadarupazila at the Chandpur deputy commissioner’s (DC) office yesterdaymorning.
“We want today’s children to be successful partners in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. That’s why technology must be needed,” Dipu Moni said. “But there is a matter of surveillance of all including teachers-guardian. Just as we monitor the study, when they are studying using technology, there is an issue of observation. So we have to fulfill our responsibility.”
Responding to another query, the Education Minister said that “pandemic is now a reality”. There is no denying it. It has hit the world. The education sector, like all other sectors, has been hit hard. Now everyone is trying – in the next academic year – if the pandemic does not hit anymore, then we will try to make up for the shortfall there.
