Suffering mounts to get train tickets

Staff Correspondent: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, a huge crowd of ticket seekers was noticed at Kamalapur Railway Station on the second day as well as on the first day to get advance train tickets.
Tickets for the second day of Eid for homebound people started at 8 am yesterday.
Visiting the ticket counter of Kamalapur Railway Station, it was seen that men, as well as women, have been standing in long queues since dawn. Some have been standing in queues since Friday night.
A ticket seeker named Sabbir Hossain said there was a fear of more traffic tails on the roads before Eid. For this, he came to the counter to buy train tickets. The competition for buying tickets online is high. Although the online process is easy, getting tickets is not easy due to the “competition”. As a result, he came to collect train tickets to avoid the “uncertainty of getting online tickets” and the suffering of the journey.
Meanwhile, on the first day of ticket sales (Friday), senior officials of the Railway Ministry visited Kamalapur Railway Station. Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujon will visit Kamalapur station at 11 am yesterday.
Railway security forces and Ansar members, on the other hand, are working to ensure peaceful ticket distribution. Besides the police, RAB is also working to stop the sale of tickets on the black market.
According to Bangladesh Railway, train tickets started selling from Friday (July 1). On July 1 – train tickets for July 5 were given, on July 2 – tickets for July 7 will be given, on July 3 – tickets for July 7 will be given, on July 4 – tickets for July 7 will be given, and on July 5 – tickets for July 9 will be given. Besides, return train tickets will be started from July 7 whereas tickets for July 11 will be given. On July 8 – tickets for July 12, on July 9 – tickets for July 13, and on July 11 – tickets for July 14 and July 15 will be given.
However, a limited number of intercity trains will ply on July 11. All trains will run from July 12.
Eid train tickets are available at six stations in Dhaka and Joydebpur railway station in Gazipur. Tickets for the entire northern intercity train are being sold at Dhaka’s Kamalapur Railway Station.
Apart from this, tickets for Rajshahi and Khulna trains are available from Kamalapur suburban platform. All intercity train tickets to Chattogram and Noakhali are available from Dhaka Airport. Mymensingh, Jamalpur, and Dewanganj train tickets are available at Tejgaon railway station.
Besides, tickets for Mohanganj-bound Mohanganj and Haor Express trains are available at Dhaka Cantonment Railway Station. Tickets for Sylhet and Kishoreganj trains are available from Fulbaria Railway Station in the capital.
Eid special train will leave Panchagarh from Joydebpur railway station in Gazipur.
