Those who lost the easy poll

Staff Correspondent : Awami League presidium member and co-chairman of election management committee Kazi Zafarullah has been win constituency for three consecutive termsin Faridpur-4but has not won even once. Jubo League presidium member Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury Nixon was elected MP after defeating him three times in a row as an independent candidate.
It can be seen in the announcement of the private results of the 12th National Parliament yesterday, Nixon Chowdhury got 1 lakh 48 thousand 35 votes with the eagle symbol. His nearest rival Kazi Zafarullah got 1 lakh 24 thousand 66 votes in boat symbol. Nixon Chowdhury won by 23,969 votes. Kazi Zafarullah’s hat-trick defeat and Nixon Chowdhury’s hat-trick win. Not only Kazi Zafarullah, many heavyweight candidates have been defeated in this election. Although the main opposition party in the field BNP and some of their like-minded political parties did not participate in the polls.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-Jasad president Hasanul Haque Inu, a member of the Awami League-led 14-party alliance, was defeated by an independent candidate. Inu, a three-term MP in Kushtia-2 constituency, got 92,445 votes as a candidate of the 14-party alliance with the boat symbol. Meanwhile, Kamrul Arefin was elected in the seat by getting 1 lakh 15 thousand 799 votes in independent election with truck symbol. Kamrul Arefin is a local Awami League leader and former upazila chairman.
Jatiya Party-JP chairman and current MP Anwar Hossain Manju lost to his former APS and independent candidate Mohiuddin Maharaj in Pirojpur-2 constituency. Mohiuddin Maharaj got 99,724 votes with eagle symbol. And Anwar Hossain Manju who was elected by boat got 70,333 votes. Manju’s house is in Bhandaria of Pirojpur-2 Constituency. Mohiuddin Maharaj District Awami League Joint General Secretary. He was the former chairman and former administrator of Pirojpur Zilla Parishad.
Former Chhatra League leader Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon has won in Habiganj-4 constituency by defeating the current MP, Civil Aviation and Tourism State Minister Advocate Mahbub Ali. According to the results declared locally, Suman who contested as an independent candidate got 1 lakh 98 thousand votes. On the other hand, Awami League’s two-time member of parliament, Mahbub Ali, got 47,000 votes.
Independent candidate Tahmina Begum was elected in Madaripur-3 constituency by getting 96,333 votes. His nearest rival, Abdus Sobhan Golap of Awami League’s boat symbol, got 61,971 votes. Abdus Sobhan is the Publicity and Publication Secretary of Golap Dal and the current MP of the 11th Parliament. The winner, Tahmina Begum, is a member of the reserved women’s seat in the 11th Parliament.
Workers Party General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha voted with Rajshahi-2 boat symbol. He could not win as a candidate of 14 party alliance. Independent candidate Rajshahi Metropolitan Awami League Vice President Shafiqur Rahman Badsha won after defeating him. Shafiqur Rahman Badsha got 34,906 votes in Kanchi symbol. The current MP of this seat, Fazle Hossain Badsha, got 31,466 votes. Mahmudul Haque Sayem was elected MP in Mymensingh-1 constituency by getting 93,531 votes with truck symbol in the 12th National Parliament election. He defeated the incumbent MP Jewel Areng by a margin of 19,679 votes. Awami League nominated candidate Anupam Shahjahan was elected privately in Tangail-8 constituency by getting 96,401 votes. His nearest rival Krishak Sramik Janata League president Quader Siddiqui Biruttam got 67,501 votes. Current MP and cultural secretary of Awami League Asim Kumar Ukil lost to independent candidate in Netrakona-3 seat. Independent candidate Iftiker Uddin Talukdar Pintu was elected with 84,673 votes in this seat. Asim Kumar advocate got 69,041 votes. In Kushtia-4 Constituency, candidate and incumbent MP Salim Altaf George lost to an independent candidate by a large margin. George got 80,111 votes with the boat symbol. Its results have been disastrous in most centers. Former MP Abdur Rauf was elected privately by getting 98,41 votes in independent election with truck symbol. Salim Altaf George lost by a margin of 17,930 votes.
Three-time MP vocalist Mumtaz Begum lost to Dewan Zahid Ahmed Tulu, an independent candidate of Truck mark in Manikganj-2 seat. Independent candidate Dewan Zahid Ahmed Tulu got 88,309 votes in total 193 polling stations in this constituency. On the other hand, Mumtaz Begum got 82,138 votes in the boat symbol.
Independent candidate Engineer Abdulla Nahid Nigar defeated Jatiya Party candidate two-time MP Barrister Shamim Haider Patwari in Gaibandha-1 seat. Nahid Nigar got 66,049 votes in the private results. His closest rival, Barrister Shamim Haider Patwari, got 43,491 votes in Langalmark. In Gazipur-5 seat, Awami League’s boat symbol candidate defeated former state minister Meher Afroz Chumki and independent candidate Ayami League leader Akhtaruzzaman won with truck symbol. According to the votes received, Akhtaruzzaman, the former VP of truck symbol Daksu, got 61,697 votes. On the other hand, the candidate of boat symbol Meher Afroz Chumki got 50,696 votes.
Former secretary general of Jatiya Party and independent candidate (truck symbol) Mosiur Rahman Ranga lost in Rangpur-1 constituency. Independent candidate (kettle symbol) and former upazila chairman Md. Asaduzzaman Bablulost him by a margin of about 50 thousand votes.
Awami League candidate Selima Ahmad Meri, the current MP of Comilla-2 constituency, lost to an independent candidate. She was defeated by Prof. Abdul Majeed in Truck symbol as an independent candidate. Current MP of Comilla-3 Constituency Yusuf Abdullah Haroon lost to independent candidate Jahangir Alam Sarkar. The current MP of Comilla-4 Constituency Razi Mohammad Fakhrul has lost to the former Upazila Chairman of Debidwar Abul Kalam Azad.
Zakir Hossain Sarkar, an independent candidate of truck symbol, won Rangpur-5 seat. Zakir Hossain Sarkar’s closest rival is the boat candidate businessman Ashikur Rahman Rashek (Rashek Rahman). In 150 centers, Ashiqur Rahman Rashek got 74,590 votes on boat symbol and independent candidate Zakir Hossain Sarkar got 1 lakh 9 thousand 709 votes on truck symbol. Zakir Hussain’s Sarker won with a huge vote but the results were delayed and at one stage the supporters started protesting.
In Dhaka-19 constituency, independent candidate Muhammad Saiful Islam won by getting 84,412 votes. His closest rival independent candidate Talukder Md. Tauhid Jang Murad got 76,202 votes. State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman and former Member of Parliament Talukder lost to Saiful Islam, an independent candidate of truck symbol. Tauhid Jang Murad. According to the results in 292 centers of Dhaka-19 constituency, the seven-time elected chairman of Dhamsona Union, Muhammad Saiful Islam, got 84,412 votes. His closest rival is the independent candidate of Eagle symbol Talukdar Md. Tauhid Jang Murad got 76,202 votes. The current Member of Parliament State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman got 56,361 votes and secured the third place.
Mahi B Chowdhury of Kula symbol, the Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh Joint Secretary General, was defeated. In the 11th National Parliament election from Munshiganj-1 constituency, he became an MP by choosing the boat symbol. This time in the 12th National Assembly election, he elected with his party symbol Kula and was defeated by Mohiuddin Ahmed of boat symbol by a huge vote. Mohiuddin Ahmed, the candidate of the boat symbol, was elected privately by getting 1 lakh 2 thousand 9 votes from a total of 170 polling stations. His nearest rival independent candidate Golam Sarwar Kabir got 61,980 votes on the truck symbol. And Mahi B Chowdhury got 17,933 votes.
