Staff Correspondent: Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that if the number of seats at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) could be increased then it would be possible to create more efficient manpower in the country.
‘MIST is known to all as a quality educational institution of the country. By receiving degrees from this institution, every year lots of students are performing their duties with reputation both at home and abroad,’ he added.
The commerce minister made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the two-day MIST Job Fair-2022 organized by MIST yesterday, said a press release.
He also said, “Our country still has a shortage of skilled manpower and this deficit has to be filled up by spending a lot of foreign currency by bringing manpower from abroad. If it is possible to increase the number of seats in this institution, it will be possible to create more skilled manpower in the country.” “The country needs more educational institutions like MIST. There is no session jam here. Even in the Covid-19 situation, online education activities were going on”, he said.
MIST Commandant Major General Mohammad Wahid-uz-Zaman gave the welcome speech at the program.
This year, in coordination with 12 departments of MIST, 90 renowned organizations of the country have participated in the job fair.
