I have not borrowed a single penny from any- one for the Bridge: PM

Staff Correspondent : Stating that not a single penny of the Padma Bridge and the railway bridge has been borrowed or borrowed from anyone, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “It is being done with the entire funding of Bangladesh. This is something critics should know. We are making it with money from the government treasury. They will mislead people by telling lies like Arbachin, it is not acceptable.
He was speaking at the start of a meeting of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (May 18th) morning. The Prime Minister was attached to the VEC virtually Sher-e-Bangla Nagar NEC Conference Center from Ganobhaban. The Prime Minister said, “There is a lot of talk about Padma Bridge. Then came the Padma Bridge rail line, saying what was needed to do with Tk 40 thousand crore? Who will ride? I’m waiting to see if they (critics) will ride when the railroad opens. I think these people need to be caught and shown, whether people ride on the railway bridge or not.
Describing the Padma as a fast-flowing river, Sheikh Hasina said, “The Amazon and the Padma are among the fastest flowing rivers in the world. I am giving the railway line on that river. They also criticized the railway line, why so much money was spent? But after the construction of this bridge, the dynamics of the economy that will come to our districts and regions in the south, will be the movement of these people, from the transportation of goods to everything.
Have they ever thought of that? This railway bridge is being connected up to Mongla port. When we do Payra Port in the future, we are also taking steps to connect it to Payra Port. But we are moving a little slower because there is not much need for it at the moment.
‘Even when we launched the satellite, they were saying what was the need for it? Whatever you say, what was the need for it? There may not be a need for them, but there is a need for the people of my country. However, I think you will use all the opportunities we have, and also confuse people by criticizing. But the people of Bangladesh know it. And how many names and characters there are in Bangladesh, we know them, said Sheikh Hasina.
