Payra port terminal to be built at Tk 944cr
Staff Correspondent: The government has decided to build the first terminal at Payra seaport. It will cost Tk 943.64 crore. The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved CRPG and CCECC to work jointly for the construction of this terminal.
At the same time, the Cabinet Committee has approved the construction of 891-meter bridge in Boda Upazila of Panchagarh at a cost of Tk 110 crore to National Development Engineering. In addition, permission has been given to fill the soil of Basic Chemical Industrial Park at a cost of Tk 102.40 crores.
Besides, Tk 101.37 crore for the completion of the package-6 of the ‘Western Economic Corridor and Regional Enhancement Program (WECARE)’ project and ‘Sherpur(Kanasakhola)-Bhimganj-Narayankhola-Rambhadrapur-Paranganj-Mymensingh (Rahmatpur) road development. The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved the expenditure of Tk 358 crore for the completion of project package PW-04.
The Cabinet Committee meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal. At the end of the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Syed Mahbub Khan told the reporters the decision of the meeting.
He said, in view of the proposal of the Ministry of Shipping, the purchase of Tk 943.64 crore has been approved under the project titled construction of the first terminal and ancillary facilities of Payra seaport under implementation by the Payra Port Authority. CRPG and CCECC got this job jointly.
He said, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BCIC) under the Ministry of Industry, ‘BCIC Chemical Industrial Park, Munshiganj (2nd Revised)’- Land Development (Additional) Project Jointly from NDE, NNBL and AC 102 Approval has been given to buy for Tk 40.16 lakh.
In view of the proposal of the Local Government Department, the Cabinet Committee has approved the purchase of the Western Economic Corridor and Regional Enhancement Program (WECARE) Phase-I Project Package-6 from Dainco Limited by the Directorate of Local Government Engineering for Tk 101.37 crore.
In view of another proposal of the Local Government Department, the Directorate of Local Government Engineering has approved the purchase of the construction of 891 meters bridge in Boda Upazila of Panchagarh District under the project of ‘Important Bridge Construction (2nd Phase)’ from National Development Engineering for Tk 110 crore.
The Additional Secretary said that the construction of the project package number PW-04 of the ‘Sherpur (Kanasakhola)-Bhimganj-Narayankhola-Rambhadrapur-Paranganj-Mymensingh (Rahmatpur) Road Development’ project by the Directorate of Roads and Public Ways of the Road Transport and Highways Department was jointly carried out by National Development Engineering, Hasan. Approved to buy from Techno Builders and Masood Hi-Tech Engineering for Tk 358 crore.
